The competition on designing a special driverless car that will be able to travel along the Russian winter roads is scheduled for 2018 by the Russian Venture Company (RVC), the Skolkovo Foundation and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

"The first driverless car which will drive in the conditions of an ice-covered testing ground of a winter city with poor visibility, snow-covered road marking, claims to receive a prize," the RVC CEO, Alexander Povalko said (his words are given by TASS)..

In addition, the second technology competition for the development of innovative technologies will be a competition on designing hydrogen fuel cells.

As noted by the "Federal News Agency", the schedule for holding the competition is compiled for three years; 600 million roubles a year are allocated for organization and the prize fund.

Earlier, iz.ru portal informed, at the exhibition "Russia Looking to the Future", the RF President Vladimir Putin was told that in eight years driverless transport columns will start driving on the toll section of M-11 route.
